Chocolate S’mores Granola -Mel’s Kitchen Cafe

This delicious chocolate S’mores Granola is topped with Graham cookies, marshmallows and chocolate chips and forms large clusters.

Wow! This fun, pretty decadent granola is exceptionally delicious. Try it on yogurt, or just eat it in small quantities!

Glass jars are filled with chocolate granola, cereal cookie chunks and mini marshmallows.

S’mores granola ingredients

The foundation of this chocolate granola is very simple.

  • Vintage Roll Oats: Don’t Quick Oats are steel oats.
  • Chopped pecans: Pecans can be easily removed to make another favorite nut, such as almonds, walnuts or peanuts.
  • Neutral oil: Like grape plants, vegetables, rapeseed oil, avocado
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: Natural or Dutch processes can be used
  • Pure maple syrup: Don’t fall off in pancake syrup – Pure maple syrup is the way to go here.
  • brown sugar: Light or dark brown will work.
  • Vanilla extract + salt

The chocolate syrup mixture will be very thick. However, it evenly covers the oats and pecans and continuously tormented coating action with rubber claws or spoons.

Bake and top with granola

To ensure a large, highly sought-after cluster and maximize the deliciousness of this granola, follow these steps:

  1. Sprinkle chocolate granola on a parchment-lined pan and bake for 15 minutes.
  2. Stir quickly and bake for another 15 minutes.
  3. Top with cereal cookies, marshmallow shreds and chocolate chips.
  4. Bake for about 5 minutes more.
  5. Remove from oven and let granola cool Don’t stir. This helps develop those granola.
  6. When the granola is cooled (but preferably when the chocolate chips are still soft), break into pieces and throw a little so that the chocolate chips help to “glue” the clusters together.

Conversely, if you don’t want a larger cluster, Give the graham crackers, marshmallow pieces and chocolate chips thoroughly. Then stir again and then cool completely.

Notes on Marshmallows

This chocolate S’mores Granola recipe requires dehydrated mini marshmallow pieces (like the ones used in these delicious S’mores cookies).

In many stores, they can be found in the aisles with hot chocolate. They are also easy to get online; I usually buy this brand {aff. Related} On Amazon.

I haven’t tried this recipe with regular mini marshmallows, but you can try it! The result might be a slimy granola instead of clustered pieces, which I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. 😉

This granola is incredibly delicious and my family is absolutely hit. We mainly eat it with a few people. It is the most delicious snack.

However, it will be super delicious on the yogurt, or drizzle some milk and swallow like cereals. enjoy!

Chocolate S’mores Granola

Granola:

  • 3 cup Vintage rolling oats
  • 1 cup Chopped pecans
  • cup Neutral flavored oils (such as grape seeds, vegetables, canola oil, avocado)
  • cup Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup Pure maple syrup
  • ¼ cup Pack
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • ½ teaspoon Coarse, kosher salt

Toppings:

  • 1 cup Chopped Graham Cookies (4 rectangular Cookies)
  • 1 cup Mini Marshmallow Crush – Like the one with hot chocolate (see note)
  • 1 to 1½ cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

  • In a large bowl, mix oats and pecans together.

  • In a small bowl or liquid cup, whisk together oil, cocoa powder, maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla and salt. The mixture will be thick.

  • Pour the chocolate mixture over the oats. Use a rubber spatula or wooden spoon to mix/mash the ingredients together until evenly combined.

  • Spread the granola evenly in the prepared plate pan.

  • Bake for 15 minutes. Stir (especially move the granola on the edges to the middle and disperse the ingredients).

  • Bake for another 15 minutes.

  • Sprinkle with granola and top with cereal cookie chips, marshmallows and chocolate chips. Return to the oven for another 5 to 7 minutes.

  • Let the granola cool Don’t stir. When the granola cools down (but the chocolate chips are still soft), split into pieces, then spread the chocolate chips and “glue” together.

  • Store granola in a covered container for up to two weeks at room temperature.

Marshmallow: I prefer to use mini dehydrated marshmallows (such as the type used in these delicious s’mores cookies). It is usually found in the aisles of the grocery store and hot chocolate. I usually buy this brand on Amazon. You can try dividing in regular mini marshmallows – the result will obviously be Gooier, not in the cluster.
