Easy Coriander Salad Recipe

We love this simple cilantro grey pull A small amount of spice with fresh lime seasoning and crushed chili! Perfect for tacos, sandwiches, picnics and more!

We’ve been making this simple salad for the longest time. It’s crisp, fresh, bright and can be paired with almost anything. It makes epic taco salad And just like pulling pork, sandwiches, burgers or the side of your favorite summer power supply.

As written, we keep this cilantro lime color free of mayonnaise, but I have tips below for recipes that turn it into creamy porn! For more information, see my classic cream coleslaw or this incredible broccoli color!

Key Ingredients

  • cabbage: I like white or red cabbage. You can use one or the other or combine them into colors. Whatever you do, want to add it for 30 minutes, guaranteeing the taste of this salad is amazing.
  • Celery, green onion and cilantro: I know there are a lot of celery skeptics out there (especially when it was original), but trust me. Celery adds the best crunch and fresh flavor to this salad! If you can’t do it, please leave it out (just don’t tell me). Green onions and cilantro add color and flavor; I highly recommend them!
  • chili: Use jalapeno or Serrano chili peppers and chop all the seeds and white film and add to the skin. For spicy colors (perfect for tacos), keep the seeds and membrane intact!
  • Lime dressing: We keep this seasoning between fresh lime juice, olive oil, salt and a little honey to balance the sour lime. You want to make this seasoning taste and look for the lip gloss before throwing it with the cabbage.
How to make a salad for cilantro lime: The best coleslaw to pickle cabbage.

The trick to making the most delicious salad is salt. We mixed the salt into the chopped cabbage and let it sit for about 30 minutes. During this time, the salt will emit excess moisture that will eventually dilute our dressing. By eliminating this moisture, it can also make the cabbage crispy. We use the same trick to make cucumber salads and our readers love it!

You can use this method for any coleslaw recipe, but this is very important for this because the dressing is very simple. After 30 minutes we rinse the cabbage with cold water and then rotate it to dry. From there, you will throw everything together and serve! Remember, this salad is perfect for adding tacos (see our favorite taco recipes)!

Piercing cabbage before adding dressing will make this cilantro lime crisp and bring more flavor than nothing. The seasoning is simple – lime, honey and olive oil. There is almost nothing in this salad, but the tacos (especially the fish tacos) are particularly good.

10 servings

You will need

1 medium cabbage, about 2 pounds

4 celery stems, sliced

1 jalapeno, chopped, and use half for very mild

3 green onions, sliced

1/2 cup loosely packed fresh coriander leaves, chopped

1 lime

4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

1 teaspoon honey

Salt

direction

1Prepare cabbage: Pass the cabbage through the core and cut off the core. Cut each quarter in half and chop. Place the chopped cabbage in a colander (you will have 6 to 8 cups). Throw away with 2½ teaspoons of salt and leave for about 30 minutes, occasionally throwing away.

2Rinse the salty and wilted cabbage thoroughly under cold running water. Then, transfer to a salad rotator and rotate to dry (or squeeze and pat dry).

3Make dressings: Stir two tablespoons of fresh lime juice with honey and olive oil.

4Make salad: Add cabbage, celery, shallot, chopped pepper and coriander to a large bowl. Pour on the seasoning and mix well. Taste the seasoning and adjust with more salt or fresh lemon juice.

Adam and Joanne’s Tips

  • storage: This salad is in good condition in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. In the past, cabbage became soft and not so crisp.
  • Make salad creamy: Whisk 1 tablespoon mayonnaise and 1 tablespoon sour cream.
  • Using a salad spinner: If you have one, use a colander of a large salad spinner when picking cabbage. This makes it easy to rinse and rotate the cabbage after salt.
